Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation

The Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (MDF) engaged Creosen to upgrade https://www.myotonic.org/ website content management system from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10. Creosen has completed this project in about 3 months’ timeframe. Our team has delivered a fully functional Drupal 10 website with all migrated content, site structure, custom modules, custom theme and users.

CLIENT OVERVIEW:

As per the client’s requirements, we have migrated all the existing content efficiently from Drupal 7 into Drupal 10. We have chosen to create the new theme in Drupal 10 using Bootstrap Framework. We have utilized Bootstrap 3 as the main theme and created sub theme to organize content and perform customizations on top of that.

Our development was done to support all the current generation browsers available for Windows, MacIntosh, Unix and Linux, as required by the client. We have tested the website for mobile responsiveness in all possible mobile devices for optimal viewing and access.

We have built the site settings in Drupal 10 that meets all the functionalities and WCAG 2.0 AA guidelines. We have optimized the website’s load time. We have implemented SEO strategy during the website development and did setup Google Analytics for PDFs, Google Search Console etc. as required by MDF.

We have conducted the site audit to identify the content types and structure of the existing site and documented the items to be migrated. Identified the website assets that need to be recreated like views, webforms, and content types. Identified custom code involved with Drupal modules that need to be rewritten.

We have utilized Drupal’s Migrate API, with custom migration plugins developed for complex data transformations. We have employed a phased approach, including data mapping, development, testing, and a final cutover.

We have utilized Behat Framework to test the application from the end user point of view. Behat is a Behavior Driven Development (BDD) tool which is the best open-source automation tool for PHP programming language. It uses the English and human understandable language to create Behat scripts for validation. Our team performed Functional, Regression, Smoke, and Sanity Testing.

Our team worked tirelessly with the client to ensure a smooth launch. We built a detailed launch plan that plans out each step in the process and who is responsible for that step. We were able to achieve improved website performance, page loading, enhanced security, access to modern Drupal features, and a more maintainable platform.
